Learn to make this beautiful bead!

If you live in Orlando, and you’ve ever considered trying metal clay, you can sign up for my class on June 26th.  In just three hours, you’ll walk out the door with a beautiful, one-of-a-kind lace filigree bead.  The bead is solid silver and the technique is really easy.  I promise I can get you from total newbie to finished bead so fast it will make your head spin!

The total fee is $115 and it includes the class and all materials and tools you’ll need to complete the project.  You don’t need to bring a thing except your enthusiasm and an opti-visor or reading glasses (if you need them for close up work).

To make the lace filigree bead, we’ll start with a cork form in a sphere, cube, lentil or football shape.  You’ll use art clay silver syring clay to create a lacy pattern of silver clay over the cork form.  We’ll fire the bead during class, burning away the cork and sintering the syringe clay to a solid silver form that’s both lacy and hollow.  If you prefer, you can make two smaller beads that can be used in earrings.  It’s so darn cool!

The class is Tuesday evening, June 26th from 5:30 to 8:30.  Head on over to this page on the FDJ Tool website to register for the class.  FDJ recently opened a brand new teaching studio right next to their showroom.  The studio is wonderful and will have everything we need to have a great class.

We’re going to have a ton of fun and you won’t want to miss it!!
